Japan’s warm climate and rainfall make it ideal for tea cultivation, with traditions dating back to the 8th century. Unlike many regions, Japanese teas are usually defined by style rather than estate, and most are harvested with advanced machinery.
This tea comes from a 100-year-old grower in the mountains of Shizuoka’s Morimachi. Deeply steamed, its straight-cut green leaves carry a light barley aroma, steeping into a pale green cup with medium body and a sweet, barley-like taste.
