Most of these teas were plucked and processed in March and April—just a couple of weeks ago at the time of writing.
There’s truly nothing like opening a fresh bag of tea at peak flavor and aroma.
However, this may soon become more difficult...
Tariffs and Tea
We received this shipment on April 17, 2025 from China. Luckily, we were not charged a tariff, so our pricing will not have to be increased.
But with the looming threat of steep tariffs on all Chinese products, including tea, the future of sourcing high-quality Chinese teas is uncertain.
To make matters more challenging, the removal of the de minimis exemption (which previously allowed duty-free imports under $800 USD) means that even small shipments may soon face added costs.
Tea does not grow in the United States in any meaningful quantity. There is no option but to import it from foreign nations.
Regardless of the political turmoil and hard hit it will bring to small businesses like ours, we remain committed to bringing you the highest quality tea at the most affordable prices.
